The Commerce Media Associate Director leads a team of Media Managers and Specialists focused on the LATAM markets while also serving as a senior strategic advisor to clients. This role combines client leadership with internal team development, overseeing the quality of campaign execution across Amazon Ads, Mercado Libre, and other regional marketplaces. The Associate Director also plays a key role in driving the agency's growth and building a best-in-class Commerce Media practice across Latin America.
What You'll Do Here:
Strategy & Client Leadership (50%)
- Serve as the senior strategic lead for clients, translating LATAM business objectives into full-funnel media plans across Amazon Ads (Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia), Mercado Libre Ads, Rappi Ads, Falabella, and other regional marketplace advertising platforms.
- Independently develop and own comprehensive full-funnel media plans across Sponsored Ads and DSP campaigns for LATAM markets.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations and testing frameworks tailored to the dynamics of the LATAM marketplace ecosystem.
- Provide insights on emerging technologies, marketplace developments, platform updates, and regional industry trends across Latin America.
- Support the development and delivery of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and other executive client presentations.
Team Management & Development (35%)
- Lead and manage a team of 2–4 Commerce Media Managers and/or Specialists focused on LATAM accounts.
- Oversee the LATAM Commerce Media team, ensuring team members proactively contribute ideas, recommendations, and strategic insights.
- Mentor Media Managers on strategy, client management, and professional development within the LATAM marketplace landscape.
- Ensure consistent quality and excellence across all client deliverables for LATAM accounts.
- Support workforce planning and hiring decisions, considering language capabilities and LATAM market expertise.
- Own the formal performance management cycle for direct reports, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual performance evaluations.
- Contribute to team budget planning and headcount requests aligned with the projected growth of LATAM accounts.
Operations, Process Improvement & Business Development (15%)
- Develop training materials and lead process improvements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for LATAM account operations.
- Ensure consistent adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards and brand safety best practices across the LATAM team.
- Partner with the executive leadership team on LATAM-focused business development initiatives and client pitches.
- Support new business RFPs in collaboration with the Sales and Business Development teams for LATAM prospects.
- Own the overall health of assigned accounts, including revenue performance, client retention KPIs, and growth targets, proactively identifying expansion opportunities and escalating account risks when appropriate.
- Lead the adoption of incrementality testing, Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) frameworks, and cross-channel attribution best practices across the LATAM client portfolio.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key LATAM platform partners (e.g., Amazon Ads and Mercado Libre), including participation in beta programs and co-marketing initiatives.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Oversee the LATAM team's adoption of advertising and marketing technology platforms, ensuring proficiency with key tools such as Pacvue, Skai, and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), while evaluating new vendor solutions as needed.
We Need a Person With:
- 7-9 years of progressive experience in Retail Media or Digital Advertising, with significant experience supporting LATAM markets.
- Demonstrated experience managing account revenue performance, client retention discussions, and growth objectives.
- Strong understanding of the Brazilian payments and attribution ecosystem, including Pix, boleto, and installment payments, and how these impact KPI design and Retail Media reporting requirements for Brazil-focused accounts.
- Required proficiency with third-party Retail Media platforms such as Pacvue, Skai, and Perpetua, as well as Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC).
- Strong foundation in full-funnel Retail Media strategy across Amazon Ads LATAM and Mercado Libre Ads is required.
- Ability to review, audit, and validate complex financial and operational models developed by the team, including budget controls, investment tracking files, forecasts, and performance reports, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and quality before client presentation.
- Proven experience leading teams, developing talent, mentoring employees, and fostering collaborative, high-performing work environments.
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of e-commerce, Retail Media, and agency operations across Latin America.
- Exceptional client relationship skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence, advise, and lead strategic conversations with senior stakeholders.

- Ability to coach Managers and Specialists by providing structured feedback on presentation quality, distinguishing between data accuracy issues, narrative gaps, and visual design inconsistencies.
